Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing our financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making. Your expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance will contribute to the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide meaningful insights on business performance.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, policies, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard assets and maintain data integrity.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, recommending and implementing necessary changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ICAN will be an added advantage.
  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, inventory tracking and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
