Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria
Salary: N300,000

Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified Legal Secretary to join our team in Port Harcourt. This role combines both administrative responsibilities and legal support functions. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
Job Responsibilities:
● Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, court filings, agreements, and correspondence.
● Maintain case files, legal records, and office documentation in an organized and secure manner.
● Assist with legal research, case preparation, and compilation of authorities and precedents.
● File legal documents with courts and relevant regulatory bodies, both physically and electronically.
● Manage attorneys’ schedules, coordinate meetings, hearings, and client appointments.
● Liaise with clients, government agencies, and external stakeholders on behalf of the firm.
● Monitor deadlines for filings, hearings, and other critical case-related dates.
● Prepare invoices, manage billing records, and support financial documentation for cases.
● Provide general administrative support including answering calls, managing emails, and handling correspondence.
Job Requirements:
● Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or relevant degree from a recognized university.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a legal secretary, paralegal, or in a legal support role.
● Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
● Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
● High level of discretion and confidentiality.
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
● Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (an added advantage).
● Familiarity with court processes.
● Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
