Description

Job Title: Special Needs Facilitator

Location: Lagos Island

Salary: N150,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Special Needs Facilitator to provide dedicated, one-on-one support for a Primary 1 student with special educational needs (SEN). The facilitator will work closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and therapists to help the student access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, and achieve individual learning goals in an inclusive classroom setting.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual support to the assigned student during classroom lessons and school activities.
  • Assist with implementing the student’s Individualised Education Plan (IEP).
  • Modify classroom materials and instructions as needed to suit the student’s learning needs.
  • Support the student with personal care tasks if required (e.g., toileting, dressing, feeding).
  • Facilitate positive peer interactions and promote social inclusion.
  • Track and report on student progress, behaviours, and any challenges to relevant staff.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, learning support team, therapists, and parents.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment that fosters learning and confidence.
Job Requirements:
  • A passion for working with children, particularly those with special needs.
  • Minimum of a B.Sc. in education, special education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with young children or children with special needs (Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour under pressure.
  • Ability to follow instructional strategies and behaviour management plans.
  • Basic understanding of child development and inclusive education practices.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and routines.
