Job Title: Business Development Officer

The role of a Business Development Officer in the downstream energy sector typically involves a range of responsibilities and requires specific skills and qualifications which includes providing technical and administrative support for the day to day operations of the business which includes following up with customers’ orders of AGO , recording outcomes of delivery and doing some marketing.

Job Responsibilities:

1.    Market Analysis and Research:

o Conducting market research to identify opportunities and trends in the downstream energy sector.

o Analyzing competitors and market conditions to develop strategies for business growth.

2.   Marketing and Promotion:

o Developing marketing strategies and promotional campaigns to enhance brand awareness and attract new clients.

o Participating in industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to promote the company’s products and services.

3.   Technical Support: Providing technical assistance related to AGO (Automotive Gas Oil) orders, ensuring smooth order processing and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.

4.    Administrative Support: Handling administrative tasks such as recording delivery outcomes, maintaining accurate records of orders and shipments, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures.

5.   Customer Follow-Up: Communicating with customers to follow up on their orders, address any inquiries or concerns they may have, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

6.   Marketing Assistance: Supporting marketing efforts by contributing to promotional campaigns, gathering customer feedback for market analysis, and assisting in the preparation of marketing materials as needed.

Job Requirements:

1.    A bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, engineering, or a related field.

2.   3 – 4 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within energy sector. Experience in project management and contract negotiation is often required.

3.   Ability to analyze market trends, and business performance metrics to make informed decisions and recommendations.

4.   Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for building relationships and presenting proposals to clients and stakeholders.

5.   Strong negotiation skills to successfully close deals and contracts with clients and suppliers.

6.   Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business priorities.

7.   Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and find innovative solutions.

8.   Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments and functions.
