Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager - Bank Partnerships
Location: 376 Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, Lagos

Job Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Business Development Manager with deep expertise in fintech partnerships and bank relationship management. This role will be instrumental in driving our Network's expansion by onboarding commercial banks, microfinance institutions, and financial institutions onto our platform. You will serve as the primary bridge between us and banking partners, translating our innovative AFCS solution into compelling value propositions that drive adoption and integration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development
- Identify, engage, and onboard commercial banks, microfinance banks, and financial institutions to integrate with our AFCS platform
- Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies targeting institutional partners across Nigeria's financial services landscape
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective banking partners, managing the complete sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure
- Negotiate partnership agreements, integration terms, and commercial arrangements with banking institutions
Stakeholder Management
- Establish and nurture C-level relationships with decision-makers at banks and financial institutions including Chief Digital Officers, Chief Technology Officers, and Chief Operating Officers
- Conduct high-level presentations and product demonstrations to executive teams, illustrating our value proposition and competitive advantages
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure seamless partner onboarding and integration processes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partner inquiries, concerns, and strategic discussions
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor fintech and banking industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform partnership strategies
- Provide market feedback to product and engineering teams to enhance platform features and partner value propositions
- Develop case studies, success metrics, and ROI models demonstrating our impact on partner institutionsRepresent us at industry conferences, banking forums, and fintech events
Revenue Growth & Performance
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual partnership acquisition and revenue targets
- Track and report on key performance metrics including partnership pipeline, conversion rates, and partner engagement levels
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing partner relationships
- Contribute to pricing strategy development and partnership revenue models
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7+ years of business development, partnership management, or enterprise sales experience in the fintech, banking, or financial services sector
- Proven track record of successfully selling B2B SaaS or platform solutions to banks and financial institutions
- Demonstrated success in closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with institutional clients
- Experience navigating regulatory environments and compliance requirements in financial services
- History of meeting or exceeding ambitious sales targets and partnership KPIs
Technical Knowledge
- Deep understanding of banking operations, payment systems, and financial technology infrastructure
- Familiarity with API integrations, digital banking platforms, and fintech ecosystems
- Knowledge of Nigeria's financial services landscape including NIBSS, BVN systems, and interbank settlement processes
- Understanding of credit scoring, loan management systems, and lending operations
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities with proven capacity to engage C-suite executives
- Outstanding presentation, negotiation, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strategic thinking with ability to identify market opportunities and develop actionable plans
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making approach
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent project management capabilities and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- Existing network of contacts within Nigeria's banking and fintech sectors
- Experience with blockchain technology or distributed ledger systems
- Previous experience in credit, lending, or loan recovery solutions
- Track record of building partnerships in emerging markets
- Experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies
