Position: Digital Marketing Trainee

Reports to: COO

Work Type: Hybrid

Location: Ogba, Lagos

Salary Budget: ₦100,000 – ₦150,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Trainee to support the execution of digital marketing initiatives that drive growth, visibility, and customer engagement. In this entry-level role, you will gain hands-on experience working across key marketing functions, including content development, campaign tracking, lead generation, and performance reporting.

You will collaborate with internal teams and any external marketing partners to ensure campaigns align with our SaaS product's growth goals. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your digital marketing skills in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns across SEO, email, social media and paid advertising channels
  • Support the development and maintenance of content calendars for blogs, newsletters, and social platforms
  • Track campaign performance metrics (traffic, leads, engagement, conversion rates), and contribute insights for optimization
  • Conduct competitor and industry research to support strategy development and positioning
  • Create and schedule content using digital tools (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Mailchimp) to ensure consistent messaging
  • Assist in organizing online marketing events such as webinars and product showcases
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to align marketing activities with product updates and customer feedback
  • Stay current with digital trends and emerging tools relevant to SaaS growth marketing

Daily Activities

  • Review content and scheduled posts for accuracy and engagement
  • Monitor digital channels to track performance and flag key trends or changes
  • Support marketing-related internal requests (graphics, content edits, event coordination, etc.)
  • Coordinate and communicate with any third-party marketing support (if available)
  • Prepare brief daily summaries on campaign or content performance

Weekly / Monthly Targets

  • Track and report lead generation and engagement metrics from digital channels
  • Monitor and support improvements in click-through, open, and conversion rates
  • Ensure content delivery timelines are met and performance insights are shared with relevant teams
  • Propose at least one improvement initiative monthly based on marketing analytics
Job Requirement:

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • NYSC certificate or exemption
  • 1–2 years of experience in digital marketing or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of SEO, social media, email marketing, and Google Analytics
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with digital content tools like Canva, Buffer, or Mailchimp

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or freelance experience in digital marketing
  • Interest in SaaS, startups, or tech-enabled products
  • Ability to analyze and interpret marketing data
